The proposed downtown Greeley hotel and conference center will be branded a DoubleTree Inn by Hilton Hotels.
Scott Ehrlich, spokesman and member of the hotel’s investment group, said they made the branding choice deliberately after considering many brands.
“That brand fit well with what we are building,” he said. “Hilton has a really strong reservation system, and that’s really important in the brands we looked at.”
Ehrlich said nothing is certain yet as the hotel and conference center hasn’t been approved yet by the Greeley City Council. It is on the council’s agenda for Tuesday’s meeting.
“I don’t want to get the cart ahead of the horse,” he said. “This is all pending final approval.”
The hotel is expected replace the city’s Lincoln Park Library, municipal court and Fire Station No. 1 and would take up the whole block at 9th Avenue between 6th and 7th streets, pending council approval.
