The Greeley Stampede is Colorado’s premier summer western celebration. This longstanding event has grown in diversity and popularity since its inception and has provided music and rodeo entertainment to hundreds of thousands of people every summer. The event includes concerts, world class rodeos, a demolition derby, midway games and rides, food vendors, a beer garden and so much more. Those who purchase admission to the Stampede can enjoy Centennial Village Museum as part of their entrance as well.
During the Greeley Stampede, the museum’s entrance is moved to the north side of the Village and guests must enter through the Stampede’s gates.
Centennial Village Museum is a living history experience that features over 35 historical buildings, costumed interpreters, heritage farm animals, and 8-acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Visitors step back in time and learn about the early pioneer settling of the western high plains, a time when grand houses, growing businesses, extensive prairies and agriculture were all a part of daily life. Demonstrations vary each day and may include blacksmithing, historic printing, tortilla making, chuckwagon cooking, and more.
Try the Village’s cell phone tour and learn the history of each of the museum’s historic structures. Once inside the Village, dial 970-475-6217 to access the audio tour. Or, visit Greeley.Oncell.com to access the online audio and visual tour.
