Get started with Xeriscape and low water landscaping.
This beginning class walks you through the seven principles of Xeriscape. It fosters a beautiful and successful yard. Additional benefits are water savings, increased property values, and fewer chemicals to manage weeds.
This is a basic class on Xeriscape. Some people think that it is just rocks and yucca, but it’s so much more. Xeriscape not a specific look or specific group of plants as many assume. It is a combination of seven sound gardening principles.
Ruth Quade, Water Conservation Coordinator at the City of Greeley, leads the class. Ruth will walk through each of the seven steps of Xeriscape elaborating on each. The principles include the following:
Planning and Design
Soil Amendment
Reduced Turf
Efficient Irrigation
Proper Plant Selection
Use of Mulches
Appropriate Maintenance
The class is free. Space is limited, and RSVPs are required. This ensures that we have enough seats and materials. Sign up.
