City of Greeley officials will celebrate the completion of the new Centennial Skatepark with a grand opening ceremony. The grand opening will feature free food, skate demos, and prize giveaways. Greeley officials encourage adults and children of all ages to attend the free event, celebrate the new skate park, and enjoy the festivities.
In 2018, the City of Greeley began the process of creating a network of three community-designed modern concrete skateparks strategically located throughout the city. This network of skateparks will allow the majority of Greeley residents to access at least one skatepark within almost a mile of their home — each with a distinct character, unique terrain style, and site integration approach. To help the city staff and members of the Greeley community design and build these skateparks, city officials retained New Line Skateparks. New Line Skateparks’ team also collaborated closely with the Greeley’s Public Art program to incorporate custom installations by sculptor Joshua Goss into each skatepark.
This summer, work began on these community-designed parks:
A brand new, expansive modern street-style plaza at 3rd Street and 11th Avenue
Rebuilding Centennial Skatepark to create a flow and transition oriented facility
And a versatile skate spot retrofit at Peak View Park
Centennial Skatepark will be completed a few days before the grand opening ceremony and the other two parks should be completed near the end of October.
