Dr. William Merchant, Ph.D. is a professor in Applied Statistics and Research Methods at the University of Northern Colorado. He has seen how his field–which may seem to be all about numbers and data– can impact people in the most personal ways. Applied Statistics and Research Methods is a “systematic way of looking at problems and situations so that their moving parts can be rearranged into a way that can be studied and understood.” His main interests include exploring patterns in information to uncover meaning and practicality and how perception influences identity in complex systems. Join us for this enlightening presentation that will give us a whole new way of thinking about statistics and research!
