Greeley Central High School student intern Ngabire Hagenimana will be heading a tour she carefully researched and prepared for the Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley, 1700 Cedar Avenue. As part of her summer cemetery administrative internship period, Ngabire took note of the many graves of people presently interred at such a historical location. Linn Grove Cemetery is the resting place of individuals who were part of the history of Greeley, including prominent families of Greeley, Veterans of War, Inventors, and even those with well-known unfortunate deaths.
The tour scheduled for Saturday, August 3, is set to start at 8:30 a.m. The general public and interested history enthusiasts can meet at the Linn Grove Cemetery Bell Tower and follow Ngabire through the nearly 30 graves she chose for the tour. The tour is expected to last about 90 minutes and covers approximately a 1 ¼ mile walk.
The City of Greeley in conjunction with the Weld County School District 6 Career Explore Intern Program, provide local High School students the opportunity to explore a wide variety of jobs and gaining hands-on experience during their paid summer internships.
Facilities are available during tour times. Sunscreen, mosquito spray, comfortable footwear, water bottle, and thirst for local history recommended. Linn Grove Cemetery address is 1700 Cedar Avenue, Greeley, Co. 80631
