Your ideas created new park designs. Come vote for your favorite one.
The City of Greeley Parks Division, along with the Colorado Health Foundation are engaging local children in expressing how they want to play outside. It is a well-known fact that active outdoor play is an essential part of the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development in children.
During the first public meeting held at the East Memorial neighborhood April 27 and 28, over 250 children of all ages and adults came to Balsam Field and Delta Park to share their vision for outdoor play. They had an opportunity to share ideas, play in sand and wood chips, build art, run a natural obstacle course, touch skulls and pelts and watch their ideas be sketched by a cartoonist. Comments and suggestions received from all helped Matrix Design Group to create concepts for the four parks that reflect the needs and ideas of East Memorial residents.
East Memorial neighborhood residents are invited once again by the City of Greeley to participate in the second of three events to come together as a neighborhood, have some fun and talk about their parks and public spaces. The goal of this second event is for residents to look at the design options created and vote on their favorite one. Residents will have the opportunity to make additional changes or suggestions based on the designs to be presented.
