Volunteer Planting Project at Fox Run Natural Area

The City of Greeley has received a grant from Xcel Energy Foundation, awarded through the Colorado Tree Coalition to improve wildlife habitat in Fox Run Natural Area. The nearly 17-acre site spans an area between 60th and 65th Avenues near 16th Street. The site is primarily wetlands and includes the Fox Run Trail with a covered bridge over the wetlands.

You will help plant a variety of native trees, shrubs and perennials that will provide food, shelter and nesting sites for local wildlife such as red fox, coyote, pheasant, raptors, many species of songbirds, pollinators, and other animals that use this area. The addition of these plants will also improve the visual qualities of Fox Run Natural Area.
