The Greeley Historic Preservation Commission invites the public to walking tours this summer. The walking tours provide residents with a chance to hear about and see interesting sites. These areas have historical, cultural and architectural significance to Greeley.
No reservations are required, but participants should wear walking shoes and bring a water bottle, and insect repellant.
A tree tour of Glenmere Park is scheduled for Monday, June 17th at 6:30 p.m. City Forestry Manager Shiloh Hatcher will lead the tour.
The Front Range of Colorado experienced another hard freeze this spring, and on this tour, Shiloh will identify what trees have fared better than others since that event. He will also discuss the coming threat of the Emerald Ash Borer and provide updated information on what the attendees can do to be prepared.
This free public tour begins at Glenmere Park, 1600 Glenmere Blvd. The starting location is the playground at the west end of the park.
